Congratulations Sophie and Owen!
Owen proposed to me on our two year anniversary. I didn’t know it at the time, but he had the ring in his pocket for days deliberating over when to pop the question! He took me for a lovely meal at our local pub, The Falcon Inn, and when we got home, he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him! Although it wasn’t the most inventive proposal – it was just perfect as my favourite place in the world is our little cottage in the countryside.
Congratulations Amy and Gemma
Something on Pinterest caught my attention when snooping for proposal inspiration; a simple plate with the question ‘Will You Marry Me?’ hand painted onto the centre. I opted to do it at a beautiful cottage in Wales. I served apple crumple on the plate and I inhaled my dessert whilst she nibbled at hers which was painful to watch! FINALLY, she noticed something under the crumble, and moved the rest of the dessert to reveal the message. I said ‘I suppose I should ask you properly!’ and she said yes, of course!
Congratulations Abby and James
James and I had been going out for about eight months before we went on holiday for a couple of weeks to Iclmeler in Turkey. A few days into the holiday we decided to take a walk up the hillside that overlooks the coastline. As the sun set, James got down on one knee and asked me to make him the happiest man alive and be his wife. Of course I said yes! We spent a year planning the wedding and have recently moved to Gloucester to start our happily married life together.
Congratulations Tori and Ryan
Ryan surprised me with a trip away for my birthday. We enjoyed a spa day and had a lush meal where I kept insisting I opened my present. He told me to wait until we got back to the room where he handed me my favourite book, Stephen King’s The Stand. He had cut out a big square in the middle and tied my ring to some ribbon. I then turned to look at him and he was already on one knee. I said yes and we celebrated with some champagne before I whacked him in the head and told him not to destroy books!
Congratulations Anna and Charlie
On the morning before my birthday, Charlie said he’d booked us night’s stay at The Old Stocks Inn in Stow-on-the-Wold. I’d dropped a hint that I liked the look of the hotel but with a trip to New York on the cards we decided to be sensible and not do anything too extravagant for my birthday, or that’s what I thought! Charlie got down on one knee and popped the question in the room before dinner. It was perfect, just the two of us in the beautiful setting of the Cotswold hotel, which is now where we’re celebrating our September wedding!
Congratulations Sally and Nik
I was in New York with my wonderful boyfriend of four years, Nik. We arrived Christmas eve and enjoyed a lovely walk round central park, a meal out on Christmas day, an American football match, the ballet, ice skating in central park… still no ring. Finally, we went to the Cull and Pistol. I took my seat, see some champagne and see Nik fumbling in a pocket… He wanted to ask me a question ‘if I didn’t make a scene!’ Floods of tears and I had him in a big hug before he could even speak!
