The details

When and how did you first meet?

At work where we first met and got to know each other.

Who popped the big question and how did they propose?

Alex popped the big question on bonfire night in 2015 when we were visiting his parents.

How long did it take you to plan your wedding?

It took us six months.

Why did you choose your venue?

We visited a handful of venues and Eastwood Park was our favourite. Mary, the wedding coordinator, was extremely helpful.

What made you choose your photographer?

She had good recommendations and looking through her work impressed us the most. Amy was with us throughout the whole day from bride prep to the first dance.

Did you make, design or create anything yourself?

The wedding invitations were designed by us and then we just had them printed.

Tell us about the wedding dress.

It was an ivory Anna Sorrano dress with a lace-up back and diamante corset.

What did the groom wear?

He wore a mid grey suit with hot pink waist coat and tie, and a white shirt.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

The traditional ‘Here Comes The Bride’.

Did you have any special readings during the service?

Yes our friend read a poem called ‘On Our Wedding Day.’

What did you have for your wedding breakfast?

The starter was melon, main course was roast chicken, and dessert was raspberry shortcake, followed by tea or coffee and wedding cake.

What kind of cake did you go for?

We had a three-tiered cake, with two layers of sponge and the other chocolate cake.

What was your first dance song?

‘Amazed’ by Lonestar.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Saying ‘I do’ and spending time with our friends and family on our special day. The whole wedding went perfectly.

What advice would you give anyone planning their big day?

Having a toastmaster is a very big help and relieves the stress and worrying on the day. Make sure you take time out together, whether it is five or 15 minutes and enjoy every second, as the day goes so quickly.

And finally, where did you spend your honeymoon together?

We had a week away after the wedding in Devon and are due to go to Corfu for two weeks at the end of May.

If Becky and Alex’s day has inspired you, see Eastwood Park.
