An award-winning stylist who has brought wedding dreams to life across the Cotswolds and beyond, Wedding Creations UK’s Lauradana boasts a creative talent and Aladdin’s cave of picture-perfect props.
Discussing her styling service, dream wedding and current trends, Lauradana shares her secrets – and images – with SoGlosWeddings.
I started Wedding Creations UK to alleviate a large proportion of the stresses associated with weddings from couples. They can sit back and relax on the morning of their wedding knowing that the setup is in safe hands.
With my full styling service couples can choose items from my prop collection which I will then style alongside any of their own items.
I love elegant and timeless decor and my style reflects this. My style has been described by others as delicate and relaxed with hints of rustic country charm.
I had previously trained as a merchandiser and visual stylist and so no matter what brief is given to me I love the challenge. The key thing for me is that the decor is in keeping, rather than competing with, the look of the venue.
Lots! It’s a bit like an Aladdin’s cave at my unit!
For couples wanting a more bespoke service with items made just for their day then this is an ideal service for them. I will design everything from the stationery to their tablescape with a team of suppliers to make sure everything is cohesive for their day.
For those with venues that have restricted access times a stylist can help relieve the stress of having to set up their day so that they can focus on getting ready. I also find that many couples get daunted by the vast blank space of a marquee and a stylist can help relieve the stress of trying to ‘fill the space’.
No; I love all venues from Barns to manor houses, they all come with their quirks which is a fun challenge for me!
Anything and everything! Creativity and the best ideas come from the most random of moments – most of mine seem to come to me during dreams or walks!
So many. Each wedding has a memory attached to it for me, whether it is the couple, the emotions or even the weather (I’ve once gone through two pairs of shoes in one wedding set-up alone!)
For 2018 there are several trends on the rise. There’s a growing number of weddings going for the ‘Industrial Luxe’ look so think exposed brick mixed with metallic, softened with foliage and festoon lighting.
Following on from this and sometimes in union is ‘Geometrics’, there has been a rise in the use of terrariums, perspex and minerals for this trend. ‘Fine art’ has also seen a rise in popularity; many couples may not recognise the term as such but this focuses on paired back elegance and using minimal but high-quality elements.
Continuing on from previous years are rustic countryside weddings which isn’t so much of a trend now but more of what I would consider a quintessentially British wedding style.
How varied it is! Every day is different and I absolutely love meeting new people and visiting new places.
Oh, I would love to style (and meet!) Gina Rodriguez’s wedding! I can only imagine how much fun it would be and how beautiful is she?!! (If you don’t know her google her and definitely watch Jane The Virgin!)
