Stunning exclusive-use venue, Blackwell Grange, makes a picture-perfect choice for couples planning Cotswold wedding celebrations.
The elegant venue, located in a rural setting near Shipston-on-Stour, opened its doors in 2016 after characterful buildings dating from the 16th and 17th century were lovingly restored to transform it into a magical space for hosting weddings.
Couples can say ‘I do’ in the atmospheric 16th century Thatch Barn, which benefits from original oak beams, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a majestic fireplace, while floor uplighters, beam lights and chandeliers ensure the space is brimming with ambience.
The Orchard Barn, a contemporary space that was constructed in 2016 on the footprint of the original sheep sheds, offers a delightful room for hosting wedding breakfasts of up to 150 guests and evening celebrations for 200 friends and family.
The Apple Tree Lawn just perfect for post-ceremony drinks during the spring and summer.
The room, which features bi-fold doors that open out onto a picturesque terrace, was designed to give couples a blank canvas to create the wedding of their dreams.
The space also benefits from a mezzanine Snug, accessed via a striking helical staircase from the bar area, which has an eclectic mix of sofas, armchairs, coffee tables and lamps to offer the ultimate chillout space for guests.
Catering is provided by the in-house catering and events team, Galloping Gourmet, who has over 25 years’ experience of creating delicious and memorable wedding food, covering everything from canapés and formal sit-down meals, to live food stations at evening celebrations.
The venue’s beautiful gardens can be enjoyed throughout the seasons, with the Apple Tree Lawn just perfect for post-ceremony drinks during the spring and summer, while Orchard Barn’s bespoke glass windows ensure you can soak up the views even in winter.
On the wedding, day, the bridal party can take advantage of The Potting Shed, a warm and inviting space that benefits from well-lit make-up stations, full-length mirrors and plenty of room to hang dresses, making it perfect for bridesmaids to get ready.
The room also has a separate space that’s dedicated to the bride, The Bridal Porch, which opens out onto a secluded terrace set among jasmine and climbing roses, with both rooms available for use throughout the day.
After the excitement of the day, couples can retreat to the secluded Hayloft Honeymoon Cottage, which offers a luxurious retreat for newlyweds. Meanwhile guests will find a number of hotels in the surrounding villages and picturesque Cotswold towns, just a short journey from the venue.
An exquisite bedroom and lavish bathroom awaits, while the Juliette balcony overlooks the Walled Herbed Garden and has space for two to enjoy a romantic alfresco breakfast.
